The European Union has recently officially recognised the denominations “Napa” and “Napa Valley” for wine in a way similar to the European appellations of origin for wine. The president of Napa Valley Vintners comments “It is a significant victory in the permanent fight to protect the name Napa around the world”. Not that we believe that there were many producers in Europe who called their wine “Napa”…vinimarket.com, decanter.com, napavalleyregister.com
