Maybe with a cheese, the Christmas pudding or the walnuts. The foie gras on New Year’s Eve is best enjoyed with a sweet or slightly sweet wine. In Alsace you can find wines with almost any degree of sweetness you can wish for. If you are lucky, that is. The labels hardly ever give you much information but it is worth a try and what good is life and you don’t gamble a bit?
