Two thirds of all Champagne bottles are made by the big Champagne houses. And they account for 90 % of the export. So one is forgiven if one forgets that there is another aspect of the Champagne region. That of the small growers that own their land and produce their Champagne from start to finish.
They live in a different world compared to the houses. And often their Champagnes have much more personality and character than the Champagnes of the houses.
