Constellation Brands is one of the world’s biggest wine producers. Ruffino is one of the biggest producers of wine in Tuscany with its core in Chianti. Constellation recently bought 50.1% of Ruffino. The price tag was 50 million euro (plus taking over debts of around 55 million euro).
Constellation already owned 49.9% of Ruffino and thus becomes sole owner of the Tuscan wine producer. Ruffino has 130 employees and makes 15 million bottles of wine per year. They no doubt have quite a few hectares vineyards in Tuscany. Read more: vitisphere.com
