Ten years ago, in May 2003, we launched the BKWine Brief, our newsletter on wine, gastronomy, and travel. Already from the start it was bilingual English-Swedish and edited from Paris. But apart from that a lot has changed!

Originally BKWine Brief was a short on-line version of the printed newsletter (called “VinNytt”, Wine News in Swedish) that we at that time distributed by mail. So, since May 2003 we publish the BKWine Brief, or just The Brief, every month. As far as I can remember we have not missed a single month since then.

When we came out with the 100th edition we wrote an article about the origin and history of The BKWine Brief newsletter.

Here are some of the things that you could read about in the very first issue of BKWine Brief in May 2003:

We had three producer recommendations, winemakers that are still interesting to try: Chateau Roubine in Provence, Domaine Coupe-Rose, one of the now numerous excellent wine producers in the Languedoc, and Claude Courtois in the Loire Valley who makes quite unusual wines that have become very popular in the recent trend for “natural” wines.

We had a few brief (!) news items on that (a part of) Chateau Margaux had been sold, on how to combine chocolate with wine, and an item on one of the best chenin blanc producers in Vouvray in the Loire.

We also had a section with restaurant recommendations (already!) where we had to restaurants in Paris and one in Stockholm, as well as three suggestions for good wine shops.
