Every year in spring time the “interprofessional body” of Bordeaux presents the status of Bordeaux wine and its vision for the future.
The CIVB, Conseil Interprofessionnel du Vin de Bordeaux (Bordeaux wine Bureau), is an organisation that has the responsibility to promote Bordeaux wine, and to act as a technical and political organisation for Bordeaux wine. It is one of the most influential wine organisations in France, not least thanks to it big budget and to the importance of the Bordeaux wine region.
They present the detailed numbers for last year’s “campaign” (French for last year’s numbers quite simply) at a press conference in Paris. They also present their vision for the future which includes their views on what are the main areas of action, for example, this year the environment and chemical treatment in the vineyards is high on the agenda.
Here is the full press conference of 2017 (in French) with the president Alain Sichel and vice-president Bernard Farges:

Part 1:
Part 2:
It can be interesting to compare the older presentation with the later ones considering that in 2009 the world, and certainly also Bordeaux, was in a difficult economic situation, shortly after the world financial crisis, and today, Bordeaux is much more prospering and economically healthy.
