Millésime Bio is in international terms a small wine show (or wine fair). There are “only” some 800 exhibitors. On the other hand it is one of the most interesting wine shows to go to. There are many small or small-ish wine producers and there are many that are aiming very much for the quality segment.
To tell you the truth, for me, the fact that it is “organic” is not of vital importance. What counts is that the wine producers are interesting and make good wines. And that is often the case at Millésime Bio. Each exhibitor gets the same exhibition space, just a table, so you have no big-budget booths built with big marketing budgets. You have also much less of the big-brand producers here since to exhibit you have to be certified organic.
Quite simply, it is a wine show where you have a high concentration of very interesting producers! One of the most worth-while wine shows around.
The fair takes place in Montpellier, in the south of France, so there is of course a predominance of French producers. But there are quite a lot of exhibitors also from other countries: Spain and Italy are the two biggest “foreign” countries, but in previous editions we have met producers from numerous countries, for example Argentina, the USA, Greece, Poland, and even Egypt!
Enough said about that, what I really wanted to say is that the next edition of the Millésime Bio wine fair will take place on January 26-28, 2015. Put it in your agenda. Perhaps we will meet there!
