Sometimes in the 60s Tom Angove came home with a strange construction: a card-board box containing a plastic bag that he had filled with wine. The family thought he was nuts. But it was his prototype for what was to become one of the most revolutionary packaging innovations for wine, the bag-in-box, sometimes called cask wines. Angove was Australian and died recently at 92. We don’t know if he ever came to Sweden, the country that has the world’s biggest market share for wine in a plastic bag (exceeding 50%).
